!ACCORDING TO "Tosoiba" DUP publication, pg 161 Tilford was appointed county commissioner of Soda Springs, Idaho in Feb 1864 for a 4-year term. -From Early History of Fremont County (WY) by H.G. Nickerson, Tilford is listed as one of the first settlers of the Wind River Valley (now Fort Washakie area), arriving in 1868. A newspaper article written by Hiram Lusk from 'The Sweetwater Mines' dated June 27, 1868 (pg 3) lists Tilford as living in the Wind River Valley. -'South Pass 1868" in the journal of James Chisolm, he writes of visiting with Tilford at his home in Wind River Valley, probably in the late Summer-early Fall.
