Kaleidoscope Wedding Quilt
This quilt was made in Jan/Feb 1999 as a wedding gift for my friend Dana and her husband Walt. The colors for this quilt are variegated blue (from very dark to royal blue) with lightning streaks throughout, a turquoise batik, and a very pale waterspot print fabric in turquoise/pale-pale pink. It is the second kaleidoscope quilt I have made, and the first with an edge pattern. It was machine pieced and quilted.
Little did I know at the time, but Dana had aspirations of learning to quilt, so she was just thrilled with the gift. Since then, I have had to include her in my various shopping trips around the US whenever we are on business trips to the same place - she has really picked up the knack of collecting fabrics!! Her husband Walt has been in my office several times commenting on it and just shaking his head (I'm grinning from ear to ear inside, of course!).
