Robert Wilson, who was born in Ireland, and had fought under Wolfe, held many offices of trust during the Revolution. He responded to the Lexington Alarm, was major at Bennington, Saratoga, and detailed to escort six hundred Hessian prisoners to Boston. He died at Peterborough, 1790, aged fifty-three.

He was ordered to advance on the breast-works [p.72] and in the attack was wounded but retained the command until the conflict was over. He was placed on the list of invalid pensioners. He was born in Warwick, England, and died in Cheshire, Mass.
