Bradford Baker, (1756-1834), volunteered 1775 under Capt. Thomas Turner and re-enlisted 1776 under Capt. Nathaniel Winslow. His pension was allowed for one years actual service as private Massachusetts line. He was born and died in Marshfield, Mass.

He was born in Georgetown, 1755; died in Marlboro, S. C. Claudius Pegues, (1719-90), an active Whig, was selected from St. David's to the Provincial Congress but declined to serve. He was County justice of Marlboro, 1783. He was born in London, Eng.
Elias Du Bose, (1737-89), served as lieutenant of South Carolina troops.
Lemuel Benton, (1754-1818), served in Marion's Brigade until the close of the war. In 1783 he was a delegate from St. David's Parish to the Legislature. He was born in Granville Co., N. C.; died in Darlington District, S. C.

James Martin Lewis, (1760-1830), was among the heroes [p.300] of Kings Mountain, where he and two of his brothers were wounded. He was born in Albermarle Co., Va.; in 1793 emigrated with his father and brothers from Surry Co., N. C., to Columbia, Tenn., where he died.

Joseph Wilcox, (1730-1804), commanded the senior class company 1780 of Washington County militia. He was born in Westerly; died in Charlestown, Rhode Island.
Samuel Champlin served as guard on the coast of Rhode Island. He was born in Westerly 1758 and his name is found 1790 on the first census.
