He was in the company of Captain John Black and he remained in the service, receiving his bounty coat with the rest of the army on 26 October 1775.
He was also a private in Captain Nathan Hamilton's company, Colonel Samuel Brewer's regiment, from 3 Aug 1776 to 30 Sept 1776.
Later in that year, he was at Ticonderoga in the same company, and was in the service in Captain Benjamin Noyes' company, Colonel Nathan Sparhawk's regiment on the Bennington alarm in 1777.
He sold to Keziah Harding, land adjoining that of Elisha Broad in Barre on 2 Jan 1773.
He bought his farm from James Black at Barre on 1 Jan 1778.
