The Irish Wolfhound Standard

The "Standard" is the word picture that describes an Irish Wolfhound so that judges know what points they are looking for that make an Irish Wolfhound distinct from a Greyhound, or a Terrier or even the Scottish Deerhound.

Although the Irish Wolfhound Standard is very similar in most countries - there are slight variations between countries so here we present links to the standards of a number of countries.

As time permits, an Illustrated Standard will be built here to pictorally demonstrate what the text describes.
