  • Lucas does Jedispotting
Here's an article I found on Infobeat; It appears George Lucas really, really liked the recent hit film "Trainspotting." The story goes, he was so blown away by Ewan McGregor's performance as Renton in the smack-fest that he kept the tousled-haired Scot in mind to play Jedi apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace." Just the latest name spit out by the rumor mill surrounding Episode II is Robert Carlyle, another "Trainspotting" star who Empire magazine hears happens to be a favorite of Lucas. Carlyle was recently seen in the cannibal thriller "Ravenous," and had a starring role in "The Full Monty." Carlyle will be seen next as a bad guy who cannot feel pain in the upcoming James Bond movie "The World is Not Enough," -Infobeat
  • Darth Maul, Windu's Apperentice?
A rumour has it that a Jedi master's lightsaber is similar to that of his apperentice. As stated in this rumours page earlier, Windu's and Maul's lightsaber shares a similarity. However an excerpt from the magazine Starlog, issue 262, May 1999 will contradict this. In it, Samuel L. Jackson was interviewed about his role in The Phantom Menace. At one point, he said, "... I'm there and some guy would come over to me and open up a case. Inside were like nine lightsabres, and he would say, 'Choose yours.' I would be there, hyperventilating..."

  • Catherine Zeta-Jones in Episode 2?
There are some rumors that Catherine Zeta-Jones will be in Episode II. Well, JediNet came across an interview she did with FHM Magazine.
    - You've been spotted out with George Lucas. Has he asked you to be in the next Star Wars?
No, ha ha! Who do you think I'll play? The older version of Natalie Portman? But I'd love to work with George - he's a very good friend of mine. I met him when I did an episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles; and when I was filming Entrapment he was in London doing dubbing for The Phantom Menace, so we went out for dinner.
    - George is an older man...
Yeah, that's right. I can't deny that fact - but there's no relationship.
