Tori Amos
A Fire in the Sky

About Tori Amos.

"Who the hell is Tori Amos?" you might ask. In the most basic terms, she is a carbon-based life form. More specifically she is a woman, singer/songwriter, and all around swell gal. (On a side note, why do they say singer/songwriter when you have to write the songs before you sing them?)
     So what about Tori Amos?!?!
What's so special about Tori?
If you need to ask, then you've never really listened to her music. You may have heard it, but have you ever really listened?

Okay, maybe I haven't listened to her. What album should I start with?
Start with "Little Earthquakes". It's pretty much the one that started it all, not counting "Y Kant Tori Read". Then just go in order of release: "Crucify", "Under the Pink", "Boys for Pele". (If you can get a hold of YKTR, then I'd throw that in after UtP.)

So what's your story? What's your fascination with Tori?
Well, I guess it was fate. You see, it all happened one day back in February 1992. My sister, as she often did, left the TV on in the basement while she went off elsewhere. I went down to do something, I don't remember what, but the station that was on was VH-1 and the video that was on was for "Silent All These Years." I was intrigued, for sure, and I watched the video to find out who this beautiful person was. Well, as you might have guessed, it was Tori. I was like, "Cool."
Then, a few days later, as I was flipping thru the channels, I came across VH-1 again, there was Tori and "Silent All These Years." I was like, "Cool." And this time, I made sure that I remembered the name when I went to the mall that night. I bought the cassette of "Little Earthquakes" that night, and the rest, as they say, is history.
