This section of A Fire in the Sky is dedicated to Tori collectors and collectables. Since many of Tori's fans, or 'ears with feet', collect Tori stuff, I thought that it would be good to have a place that EWFs can go to get the information and help they need to build their Tori collections. When I talk about stuff, I refer to everything that you might think of, from Cds and cassettes to posters, magazines and miscelaneous promotional items. And as Tori's said, "stuff is the issue."
My Pieces of Tori:
First off, let's start with my collection. Not just to show off, but so you know that I know something about collecting Tori stuff. Check out my Tori collection list, "My Pieces of Tori". I've been collecting Tori stuff since March 1992, picking up a few things here and a few things there. The first thing that I got was the "Little Earthquakes" cassette. Next was the US "Crucify EP" CD, the UK "Silent All These Years LE", "Crucify", "China" and "Winter" CD singles. After that, I can't remember, but it's been piling up ever since.
As you can see, it's quite a long list. Although, I know of some people who have bigger and better Tori collections. And there's definitely some stuff that I'd really like to have.
Getting Stuff:
So, where did I get all that Tori stuff?
Aside from the regular US official releases, I started getting stuff at record collectors' conventions. Before Tori, I was a big Guns N' Roses fan, and I had started collecting all sorts of GN'R stuff from various places, but the best stuff I found was at record collectors' conventions. Then, shortly after I started listening to Tori, I went to one of these record shows and while looking for more GN'R stuff, I looked up some Tori stuff and found 4 UK singles that had all these b-side songs that I obviously hadn't heard before. To make a long story short, I didn't go home with any GN'R stuff. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Where can you get Tori stuff?
Well, there are a lot of places to find Tori stuff. Being in the US (NJ specifically), I've only really dealt with finding foreign releases and promotional stuff. I imagine that most regular US releases are pretty well available in most countries, though. Of course, if you're in the UK, finding UK releases is probably pretty easy, so much of what I can say is probably of most use to those in the US. Therefore, I won't bother with talking about the regular US releases here, for the most part, since they can be found in any mall.
I've compiled a list of some Tori Stores that you can access on-line. They are listed like the Long Version of my Tori Connections section. Listed are the sites, the URLs, a Piano Key Rating of the site and some info about it.
