(my film)
2nd rough cut shown tonight. I was in a bad mood, so perhaps it wasn't the best time to take criticism. Consensus of the class seems to be that I should bring back original beginning and cut the end. I agree with the first part, not the last. Anyway, it's been frustrating to say the least. This film is beginning to be like a rash on a very uncomfortable part of my body.

Missed Chinese Cinema screening this week to listen to speech by Hollywood producer/writer/director/Ithaca alum ('74) Bill Froehlich. Pawned off resume and complimented him on "MacGyver." See, my many embittered professors? Not everyone in Hollywood is an asshole.

Seen tonight: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Helped remind me why I got into this major in the first place--I love listening to and telling stories, and that's what I want to do for the rest of my life. (See epiphany in "personals.") Most of my professors hate this "kind" of movie, I suppose because it has a good pace and makes you feel good at the end.

Also seen lately: Rushes & rough cuts of classmates. Notable films are about something, and there are a few in there. I predict at least 5 really top notch films this year (out of 20 or so).

The weather has finally gotten above the freezing mark. Of course, this makes it even harder to work on my film in the basement of the Park School. Warmer air makes for louder drunks, however. And louder drunks make for louder stereos which, when played at one house, can be heard inside another house across the street. Get over yourself.

Thump thump thump thump thump thump thump! Fuck you, asshole!

Sirens abound, as usual. This whole town seems like it should be on fire, what with all the sirens I hear. Regular road to Wegman's closed for some reason--irritating. That is all.

First "free" weekend since January. I'm actually looking forward to being able to catch up on all my work, and I'm looking forward to sleeping (note time: 1:24 am Saturday morning). I have assignments from three weeks ago that I haven't turned in yet.

[Editor's note-- Accomplished this weekend: 80 games of Tekken 3 on Saturday. Stayed up until 8 in the morning watching movies.]

Have given up on looking for relationship at this school. Is everyone as obnoxious as I think they are, or are they just that way around me? I can't even tell the difference between most people on this campus anyway. I think those scientists are lying--they have cloned human beings, and they've sent 'em all here.

On a happier note, I had an epiphany this week--I'm going back to pursuing writing. I would go into more detail but I've already told this to so many people I don't feel like repeating myself. It's not that interesting, either, I'm just excited.
