Welcome to the Unofficial SOLID GOLD Web Site! We're celebrating our ELEVENTH year as the source for information about SOLID GOLD the MUSIC SHOW of the 80's. When I first started this web site, it was the only one. I had a few pages and a couple of pictures. The site certainly has grown!! And this really has been a group effort. I hope you'll take a moment to visit my THANK YOU page. I've been very fortunate to have had so many people contribute to creating this web site. THANK YOU to everyone who has helped, visited, and/or emailed me! SOLID GOLD and VH1 In 1998, VH1 began airing a half-hour version of our favorite show! Initially - in the Spring - SOLID GOLD was on weekdays at 1:00 PM - and it seemed like the show would be a regular part of VH1's daily schedule! But - as frustrated fans found out - that was not the case and it was more of a "feast or famine" with VH1 either running "marathons" or airing the show sporadically. Finally, VH1 just stopped running the show. "SOLID GOLD FANS" can let their voices be heard by emailing VH1 and letting them know that we want "SOLID GOLD" back on VH1! THEIR EMAIL ADDRESS IS: VHWEBSHOW@vh1.com and be sure to put "SOLID GOLD" in the subject! I received this response from VH1 regarding "SOLID GOLD": ------- Message From: VHWEBSHOW@aol.com Date: Wed, Mar 17, 1999, 11:05am To: patsm@webtv.net Subject: Re: "SOLID GOLD" - second request for information Thanks for your note. As of this time, we have no plans to bring Solid Gold back to our regular schedule. Sorry to disappoint you. Thanks for watching VH1. ------- Various websites dedicated to television shows have suggested that while sending emails to Networks is okay WRITING LETTERS IS MORE EFFECTIVE! Here is VH1's address: VH1 1515 BROADWAY NEW YORK NY 10036 And their telephone number is: (212) 258-7800 AWESOME 80'S LINKS! |
