I'm Back! 12.10.2005
Yup, I'm back! It's been almost a year (about 11 months really) since I last updated this site. Shocking I know! The unfortunate truth of the matter is that I've just been too lazy! After leaving varsity I didn't have access to Internet 24/7 anymore and it was just too much of a mission to resort to the painfully slow Swazi dial-up system!
BUT, I'm now working in Johannesburg with excellent speedy access to the Internet once again so I thought I'd better get off my butt and do something about this site! So, time for a very brief and summarised run-down of where I've been for the last 11 months! (Check out some of the Photos here.)
December 2004 - January 2005: finished varsity and headed home to Swaziland for a couple of weeks. Then headed off for an amazing once-in-a-lifetime family overseas holiday!! Mum, Dad, Bryan and I spent a month in the States - a couple of days in New York, Disneyland and Hollywood in LA, up Highway 1 (the most scenic highway in the world) to San Francisco, a week of skiing in Lake Tahoe, and a night in Las Vegas baby! Awesome stuff!
Then a couple of days in London before the rest of the family flew back and left me there for another 3 weeks to visit all my old school mates who are now living in Pommieland!! Fantastic to see them again after 4 years or so!
February 2005: got back from the UK about halfway through the month and had a couple of weeks of lazing at home in Swaziland. Soaking up the warm weather after 2 months of winter!
March - April 2005: flew down to Cape Town to see REM perform live. It was a great concert and all my mates were down from Rhodes so we had a fantastic night! Spent a few more days in Cape Town with Wendy and finally did Table Mountain! Then flew down to Grahamstown and chilled there with mates for a week. Also awesome fun! Another week with Wendy but in East London this time and then back to Grahamstown for graduation!!
May 2005: mostly just chilling at home in Swazi but we did go to Mozambique for 10 days to stay at our new property there for the first time. It's beautiful!! Can't wait to go back! Hopefully in December...
June - July 2005: moved house! A bit traumatic because we'd been in the same house for 13 years but the new place is cool. Then just chilled at home some more, bored out of my mind - waiting for the South African work permit to come through. Until one day ... July 27th to be exact ... I had my first official day of work at Business Systems Group in Johannesburg!!
August - October 2005: working hard and loving it!! I have a great job, in a great office, with great people. So happy and lucky to be here! Also, highlight of the year - on Saturday I got to see my absolute no 1 favourite band, K's Choice, perform live in Pretoria!!! It was AMAZING!! But more about that here.
So, that's been my year to date. Hopefully from now on my entries on this page will be far more regular, and shorter. Ciao for now but come back soon for new photos!!
