This is your opportunity to see what we think of some of the trailers in theatres now. CURRENT (FALL 2000):
HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES The title really says it all. This creation of the always "interesting" (thanks Micheline) Rob Zombie, this horror film appears to harken back to the Golden Age of Horror - the mid-'80's, when Freddy, Pinhead, and the like reigned supreme. The musician who samples freely from corny movies of yesteryear throws his over-sized psycho cowboy hat into the movie ring - looks like a good scare (for a change). -----PS: for fun, go rent the unrelated, yet likely similarly-themed B movie Dead Hate the Living, it's a hoot.
DANCER IN THE DARK Iceland's greatest (only?) export, Bjork stars in this Drama/Musical(?) about a woman trying to escape into a fantasy world when her life (she murders someone) goes awry. Winner of the prestigous Palm de Or at the prestigous Cannes Film Festival - you know, an "ArtHouse Movie. Sure does look intriguing, though. Directed by Lars Von Trier.
BOUNCE But, wait, I thought this was Duets. Anyway, Affleck and Paltrow star in this romance. Looks tepid, but, hey, I'm a guy, what do I know about romances (I did dig Like Water for Chocolate and Immortal Beloved, though)?
