Medical
2 sick bays located on decks 12 forward (saucer section) and 15
amidships (engineering section). Under normal operations there
are 2 surgical suites, 10 ICU beds, 4 medical isolation beds, and 24
diagnostic beds. Emergency expansion modules in all shuttle bays allow
the bays to be converted to hospital grade wards. The full capacity of
the expansion modules is 250 units.
Both Sickbays are equipped with full laboratories, imaging
diagnostics, a surgical suite, 2 isolation rooms and 12 standard diagnostic
beds, and 2 stasis chambers.
Medical grade replicators are present in both sickbays and contain
the replication data of all known medications, blood types, and tissue types
for all known races. Both suites also have full cloning capabilities
to allow for the cloning of lost body parts.
Emergency Medical Hologram emitters installed throughout the ship to allow instantaneous medical assistance wherever needed in any situation.
During Medical Relief Missions the Merrimac can be fitted with a Hospital Pod that will allow her to act as a hospital ship. This pod contains 500 General Medical / Surgical Beds, 125 Intensive Care Beds, and 10 Operating Rooms.
2 Shuttle craft are permanently fitted as medical mobile intensive care units. This allows a medical team to have on site advanced medical equipment for those situations when the patient cannot be transported directly to the Merrimac.

Primary Sensor Arrays - Long Range Sensor arrays on Primary and Secondary
Hull, Tactical array on Weapons Pod, Lateral Sensor arrays on all hulls,
Navigational Sensor arrays on all hulls. These sensor arrays contain
the standard mix of sensor pallets but the type and configuration of sensor
pallets can be easily changed as the sensor arrays on a Nebula class cruiser
can accessed from inside the ship.
15 Science Labs 10
in the saucer section and 5 in the engineering section. Ability to house and
equip 25 separate science teams.
Over 200 different
science specialties are represented on the Merrimac. This diversity of
science personnel allows the Merrimac to act as a premier research vessel.
10 classes of probes,
types I through X, are utilized. Normal quantities are 20 of each
class of probe. This number can be increased by a factor of 4 for
special research operations.
Full biohazard isolation, cloning, and replication facilities are available in all life science labs.
A Science Pod can be fitted on the Merrimac allowing her to provide lab space in multiple configurations for any specialty needed for a specific mission. The pod is configured at a Starbase to meet the needs of the mission before it is attached to the Merrimac.
2
shuttlecraft are permanently fitted as exploration grade vehicles.
This increases the survey capabilities of the Merrimac by a factor of 300%.
