My inspiration behind the whole project started with the birth of my son Gabriel Jacob Sandoval. His mother and I had chose his name very carefully over the course of a few days, after he was born. When we had finally decided on his name, Gabriel, after an Archangel of Heaven. I had become interested in the divine creatures. I thought to myself that Angels were cool characters and I would like to see them in a movie.
I had seen "The Prophecy" a few times and liked it. When the sequel came out, I was actually very disappointed. I had decided to write a treatment and script for what I hoped would be "The Prophecy 3" where I begun further research of Angels. By that time, I had learned so many things about Angels is that I thought I might as well do my own movie about them. Although a lot of my script is very similar to the "Prophecy" movies, I had already made the descision to make it. I din't care if it was a rip off or not.
While in College here at the Salish Kootenai College, my instuctors and fellow students had shared a lot of interest in the project. I had been given free reign to it. So much to the point where my Video/Media instructor, Frank Tyro, told me to use as much stuff and equipment of theirs as possible. When I had finished the final draft of the script, I pitched the story to the SKC Drama club and they jumped at the chance.
Though my story doesn't involve much about Heaven's Angels, more about the Demons of Hell, some people in these departments voiced conscerns about the reprecussions of the subject matter. With that, I had said I'll take full responsiblity for what may occur when the finished product comes to air. That's all right with me because this is my project, from my brain, and I felt it was my duty as the director to do this. If I'm labeled a heretic or New Yorker, so be it.
All of the shooting is quick, three takes at the most for each shot with an over-all budget consisting of about fifty dollars. Fifty dollars for an hour long project... that ain't bad at all. I had tried to do as much as possible for this project such as the storyboards (I drew myself), the camera work, budgeting, transportation, and other miscellaneous crap (fake blood and knife wrangler). I had tried to go all out and it does seem to be paying off.
I have included a guest book and view book and feel free to sign it. The more feedback, the merrier. Thank you.
Antoine Sandoval
