Never mind that this offering has nothing to do with the previous two Halloween movies. It seems rather obvious that "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" is intended to be a stand-alone movie, but there are quite a few problems. One of them is the title itself. It really should just have been titled "Season of the Witch," not "Halloween III: Season of the Witch." Why risk alienating fans of the first two Halloweens with a sequel that has nothing to do with what they want to see? As for the movie itself, it just isn't scary. To its credit, the plot is actually somewhat unique. Where else are you going to find Men in Black, rocks teeming with spiders, a toy factory and an angry message toward society and its views of Halloween itself all in the same movie? Not very good, but there are much worse movies out there than " |
