Welcome to the April 2002 pictures

My parents were very generous enough to buy me a digital camera for my birthday. (Yes, I am spoiled!) The HP photosmart 318 -- I have to say it's quite user-friendly. Quite versatile without having a multitude of buttons. Figured everything out without having to resort to the owner's manual (which says a lot!) Would I recommend it to others? I would say so -- just be sure to have a photo-editing program to make the appropriate changes to the pictures. On really bright days, the auto-aperture can close up too much, creating a dark image.

Rex2k2.jpg - Who else would I take the first picture with my new camera than my dog? Ihave to say this is one of the best pictures of my dog I have ever taken. He can be quite photogenic (when he's not having urgency to go outside)...

bluetls01.jpg - The next photograph I would take would naturally be my car. (Some were shocked to see that I took pictures of my dog first!) In any instance, thisis my first accessory / modification to the car -- the license frame. It's from Acura-TL.com -- they are the sitethat gives me everything I need to know about my car. The people there are great -- helpful, courteous, a good bunch of enthusiasts.

bluetls02.jpg - Another shot of my car from another angle -- hopefully you can't tell howdirty my car is -- it rained prior to this photo and I didn't have a chanceto wash it. Just wanted to see how good the photographs from this camerawill turn out. After all, the camera will be my provider of images on my next vacation!

piaa.jpg -This is a preamble of things to come -- this was Dorothy's birthday present to me -- super-high quality fog light bulbs for the TL Type-S. It'sfrom a company called PIAA. They supply lighting solutions for rally cars as well as other performance vehicles. My car deserves no less than the best, right?

bluetls_piaa.jpg - This is a comparison between the factory fog light bulb with the PIAA lighting solution. It's a marginal difference in this photograph but when you drive ... it's a big difference. It's not as close to the xenon bulb incolour -- (I'd need to invest a forturne for a xenon fog light kit) so this isa great compromise. I have my fog lights on all the time ever since I personally installed those bulbs (long story and a few skinned knuckles later)...

bluetls03.jpg - The car in the garage after a nice treatment of Zaino. To me, this is by far, the best car care product on the market. Does wonders to the paint. However, I am slowly converting to the Meguiar's camp -- they have some killer products. In particular, I swear by their Scratch-X product to remove small swirls and scratches as well as their Endurance product to keep tires nice, black and shiny. (I love the fact that I can see my own reflection on the paint!)

bluetls04.jpg - A picture of my car on the street after applying the Meguiar's Endurance. I have to admit, I am quite the car fanatic -- but look at my car! My apologies -- I had to Photoshop brighten the picture 'cause it came out a little on the dark side. It seems a bit over-exposed now. Too lazy to change it.

bluetls05.jpg - Another photograph of the car from the front. The TL Type-S looks sweet... can't wait for my future mods! (I can feel my brother shaking his head...)

ecpa2k2_1.jpg - Why are Dorothy and I dressed up? We attended the Essex County Pharmacists' Assocation semi-formal. This year, it was held at Pointe West Golf & Country Club in Amhurstburg, ON. Prior to dinner, Chris had a pre-event gathering for a few of us new grads. He has a really nice house in a ritzy part of town.

ecpa2k2_2.jpg - A group photo of some of the female attendees of the dinner/dance. Yes, I do dislike having 'arranged photographs' (eg line-up shots) -- I'm more of a freestyle type of cameraman (I like action shots!) However, sometimes we all like to have everyone stand together and smile...

ecpa2k2_4.jpg - Some more gratuitous photographs... sorry, nothing inspirational to say about this photograph. I did have to Photoshop this one such that the ladies' faces would come out clearer. (Still have to figure out how to take out 'red-eye' in Photoshop. Any pointers?)
