Welcome to Soonger's grad formal / convocation 2001 pictures |
Since I did not bring a camera to either event, I had to strictly rely on the generousity of my good friends. For convenience, I have posted images from both events Well, it took us four long years of struggling, but we finally did it. The Class of 0T1 convocated on a blistering hot sunny day in June. The time leading up to convocation was the hardest thing-- we all had to wait in the confines of University College. The air was still and there had to been at least 200 people waiting inside East and West Halls. The walk across front campus wasn't so bad if it wasn't so sunny. Even with sunglasses, I was nearly blinded by all the rays. But once inside Convocation Hall, things turned for the better. Con Hall was nicely air conditioned, keeping the natives rested (as opposed to restless). I had a prime seat in the front row of grads right by the main exit. Had a great unobstructed view of everything. Plus I was able to say hi to my other friends graduating in other faculties as they walked by. On the most part it was a good day-- not too long but not too short. I picked up my degree and was able to listen to CDs all afternoon. (I was wise enough to bring my own entertainment-- my Panasonic CD player)

convo01.jpg - This is a picture after convocation. Past and present members of the New Crew are here! (From left to right: Rashna, Farah, Gurinder and yours truly. Missing is Alka!) NOTE: This is not one of my more flattering pictures... Hey-- what do you expect from a disposable camera? Hopefully friends who were also in the picture can vindicate me and donate / scan the same picture from their camera to replace this one... convo02.jpg A photograph donated from my friend, Stephanie. Here's a picture of some of my classmates after the convocation. (L-R): Helen, Steph, Phil, Sarah and Johnny (sleepy head). convo03.jpg This one is after convocation-- pharmacy had a gathering to celebrate all the award winners from the final year. Steph's parents snapped this one before we all left for the day. It was incredibly HOT in Hart House. (Aside: my tie is too short!) formal02.jpg - It's out of sequence, I know... this back at the grad formal at the top of the CN Tower. Here are the ladies who were sitting at our table, from left to right: Rashna, Alka, Christinne and Andrea. formal03.jpg - More pictures from the formal. Christinne and her fiance, Al and Andrea's companion for the evening (my apologies for not remembering your name... formal04.jpg - A group photo-- I somehow got stuck in the back. What to do? |
formal05.jpg - A picture that Rashna scanned (thus the lower quality)-- Rashna, Scott and Charlene striking a pose. (Goes to show you them country boys get the ladies...) formal06.jpg - A picture of the New Crew -- myself, Rashna, Alka and Gurinder. We worked hard those four years together. Great friends I have made living at New... formal07.jpg - A picture of Rashna and myself-- I have to admit that Rashna pulled off the nicest apparel that evening. Very risky but she pulled it off. If it weren't for the fact I conned Charlene to spend an outrageous price for her BCBG dress in Detroit, Rashna would be the unanimous winner... formal08.jpg - A picture of Alka and her best friend, Richard. formal09.jpg - A photograph of Rashna and Gurinder. formal10.jpg Just the Hokkien people in this picture (less Sarah and Helen). It's amazing-- I can't believe it was 4 years ago at the freshmen banquet where I met most of the pharmacy Asian people. Well, us 3 were able to catch a shot at the CN Tower. (Luckily, I'm not so red...) newcol01.jpg - A photograph taken just before the second part of the PEBC examination-- the OSCEs (practical component). As you can tell, I looked very distraught by all the studying I was doing in residence... |
