Welcome to May 2002 pictures

The camera I have is quite versatile without having a multitude of buttons. Figured everything out without having to resort to the owner'smanual (which says a lot!) Would I recommend it to others? I would sayso -- just be sure to have a photo-editing program to make the appropriatechanges to the pictures. Trying to figure out the optimal pictures this camera can take -- playing around with settings, different lighting. Next step: to try out the printer (inkjet just for photos) this camera is coupled with!

rexbath01.jpg - My brother took some pictures of Rex being bathed. He really hates baths -- to the point where he will sacrifice injury (ie jump out of the tub) to get out of the water.

rexbath02.jpg - Second photo of a wet dog. This time he's looking in my vicinity for help. No luck this time -- I'm trying to take a photograph!

rexbath03.jpg - Last photo of a Rex's bath. I can't believe how dark and murky the water is -- he didn't stink that bad nor did he do anything naughty outside. I wonder how much junk is due to his cage...

tlstint02.jpg - FINALLY got my car tinted. It's a relatively inexpensive mod -- couple hundred bucks to keep your car cooler in the summer and more private at the same time. I like the way it looks.

tlstine03.jpg - More pictures of the tints in various lighting. I got 20% on the sides and the back. I heard it's possible to cover the whole back (not having to cut around the 3rd parking brake) but I didn't inquire... oh well.

tlstint04.jpg - On my driveway, but in the shade. I have to admit, it can be a little tricky to back out of the driveway in a really dark neighbourhood (no street lights). Haven't learned the hard way, so I have to be extra cautious!!!

tlstint05.jpg - Car's a little dirty but just wanted to emphasize how dark it is on the inside -- can hardly see anything inside (at least in the back)...

tlstint06.jpg - OOPS! Same photo as previous -- too lazy to make a new thumbnail. Guess I wasn't paying attention!

tlstint07.jpg - Car's a little dirty! This one's using a lower resolution on the camera -- the photo has a bit of a weird colour and the lines aren't very sharp. Too much compression -- I don't like it! Anyway, I uploaded this photo for contrast...

tlstint08.jpg - This one I like -- the paint and the tint is so clear -- you can see me and the trees behind me. That's a COOL effect! What's good about this one is that it's on the lower resolution setting -- so it is feasible to take decent photos on low res ... but you have to be very still and very close to the object you're taking.

    Chicago 2002 pics!

Foyer @ AIC - Here's a picture of me at the Art Institute of Chicago (AIC). This is a world-class joint -- TONS of art that anybody recognizes -- Monets, American Gothic, Marc Chagall, Van Gogh, you name it -- they've got it! I was so impressed by this place, I was sad to go after one afternoon.

Picture of Del & I -- it took 6 years in the making but we did it! I finally met up with 2 great friends I made in the Taiwan trip... Mike (Michigan native) and Del (Hawaii native). It's cool to catch up with them -- a lot has happened since Chien Tan. Read some of my previous journal entries to see how my Chicago trip was...

AIC - Mao mural -- An Andy Worhal original. Very similar to the Marilyn Monroe picture we all know, this 'pop' art innovator uses his medium to make a political statement (or so I think). Thought my dad would appreciate this one -- had to post this onto my webpage.

Monet - red hat lady -- don't know the exact name of this one but it says it all. The thumbnail was a rush-job. I forgot to rotate it in Paint Shop Pro (too lazy to install Photoshop on this computer) Great picture -- you'll better appreciate Monet's mastery if you go up close and admire his gentle brush strokes...

Picasso - cubist pic -- a little bit of a 'view-askew' (thanks to Kevin Smith for making up the expression). Seen this one in a bunch of places but couldn't quite pin-point it where (art book?) In any instance, I thought it was worthy enough for me to stand next to it. I think it looks cool.

View from plane ride home -- that's what the world looks like 14000 feet above the ground. Don't know what body of water that is (Lake St Clair). Took this one about 20 minutes before landing in Detroit. Have to say I am very appreciative of the 'Friends Fly Free' promo that Southwest Airlines was having -- don't think the trip would have been possible if it weren't for that promo!

Sleepy head who snores -- snuck this one in! You wanna see my brother at his most vulnerable? Well, I got it on film -- you can thank me later...
