Welcome to Soonger's friends (page 1 of 3)

Here's where I show to the world all my friends. It's not a lot but it's starting to
grow. Haven't had much time to scan and post things on this page.  I hope to clean this place up and give this site a major facelift.

This first page is some of the photos taken at U of T (New College) from September to December of 1999. What a year to remember... let me say that it was so much more fun this year than previous years. However, as a social commentary, it was a helluva lot louder with all those immature frosh on my floor (Hilliard House). Hopefully they won't come back and order will come back to the floor...

This is what 3rd year pharmacy does to people-- learned hopelessness. Rashna is in front of her desk praying to the pharmacy gods hoping to pass the upcoming therapeutics exam. (In retrospect, it was a fair exam-- but there was a TON of material to keep straight in our pea-sized brains...) Alka was quick enough to snap this photo of a typical student trying to learn material through 'osmosis'...

    new02.jpg

What is this (picture on right)? You're looking at a keener posting the antibiotic flow chart we learned from that same therapeutics course mentioned earlier. Personally, I don't know how useful the chart is but to some, it's a visual way to keep things organized in your head.

Look at the Soonger-- mackin' with 2 of the pharmie girls in the class. On the left is Rashna, looking very fine. On the right is Alka, who had the entire floor turning their heads that evening. Perhaps it may have gotten the most out of the Soonger-- look at where is hand is!!!

    new04.jpg

The last event of the Christmas semi-formal-- MuchMusic videodance party in the Wetmore dining hall. Soonger did not feel like keeping on the Armani suit so he opted to wear the traditional khakis / blue polo combination. I guess the cologne I wore (yes, I am a loyal Armani wearer) must have pressed all the right buttons on Rashna (left centre) and Natalie (right). Poor old G-- he was left out (for once!)

This photo goes way back-- Hallowe'en. Rashna (r) walked all down Queen Street to find the right costume for a party. She was supposed to go to the pro-fac party at the Jet with the other pharmies but she snubbed us...what to do?

    mp01.jpg

Continuing with the Hallowe'en theme: A floormate (Marianne) decided to play Miss Dress-Up with some of my stuff one day. Marianne thinking she's a homey with the west coast salute and wearing shades... (Why do I allow people to go through my stuff, eh?) Aside: Satwant is sitting on the bed trying to hide from the camera.

    bestwork.jpg

A picture taken by Alka where I do my best work, or so I say. I think I was kickin' back while the New Crew worked diligently discussing our therapeutics case discussion the next morning. We are the too keen bunch!

Three of the Derrick-girlfriends (or so what Ms. Charlene has ordained herself...). From left to right: June, Jean, and Charlene. The setting: one of those posh bistros in Yorkville. The occasion: Jane's birthday. Nice atmosphere but the service could be greatly improved-- we waited forever to get served and eat our food.

A photo-op for the Derrick-girlfriends. June was in a photo-friendly mood so she asked me to bring my camera to class. It so happened to be my turn to go up for medicinal chemistry class to take up answers (along with my group) so I thought it would be nice to wear a tie. The picture isn't too sore on the eyes, don't you think? For those interested (L to R): myself, June, Jean, and Jane. (Thanks Ali for taking the photo...)

Some more photos from the Christmas semi-formal. This is the house photo with everyone all decked out. I'm way back in the left corner looking over people's heads (the one with the shifty, beedy eyes is yours truly). Next time, I should take front stage and actually SHOW UP in the picture!

    xmas01.jpg

A more intimate photo of Soonger with some of his favourite ladies from Wilson Hall. In the photo (L-R): Natalie, Alka, myself, Rashna, Akiko. A nice photo even though the floor looks a little strange. Thank goodness it is the end of the decorations. It got really sickening to see all that...

    xmas02.jpg

A up-close-and-personal photo of me with the finest ladies from Lawrence House: Rashna and Natalie. Is it a coincidence that they are in pharmacy and good friends of mine? Perhaps... In any instance, I thought the picture was well-taken. The dinner that evening, however, was something to be desired. It was nice to see everyone in the dorm all dressed up. I didn't feel so old...
