Welcome to Soonger's University of Windsor scans

After I graduated from high school, I knew that it was just deciding on how much $$$ I would accept for various entrance scholarships. I was insulted by how little Western offered me. Toronto gave me a decent-sized change but Windsor gave me big bucks AND Canada Scholars. Since my dad was faculty then, I got a free ride AND scholarship $$$. Basically, I was being paid to do well in school!

Since I was a small fish in a big pond, I didn't do a heckuva lot with respect to extracurricular activities. Being the only person to enter the chemistry program from my high school, I learned quick to make new friends. Sure, I did hang out with Immie, Jonesey and the gang but it wasn't quite the same any more. They hated many of the things they were learning and I was a bit disappointed by my academics. I think it was because I was so used to cruising in elementary and grade school, that I forgot what it takes to succeed in life-- work at it!

University of Windsor 1994-1997

Here is a picture of me and my famiy at my convocation. In a pretty ghetto location, our athletic centre field house, little fanfare other than me receiving my first university degree (in chemistry if you wanted to know).

Check it out-- three of the graduating class of 1989 at Forest Glade. I'm with my old chums, Jeff (a soon-to-be optometrist) and Nyree, a combined biology / comp sci grad. Who says nothing becomes of those who come from the Windsor 'hood???

Picture of the future shining stars from Vincent Massey Secondary School. Using the University of Windsor as a stepping stone to bigger and better things, the four of us made it to either a professional faculty or grad school. Immie is at UWO doing his masters in biology. Janet is at UofT med school, and Jonez is at UWO dents. Who would have thought there is such person as Dr. Jones???

Another picture of the boys. I should have told Immie the tie is WAY TOO SHORT!!! Where is the fashion police when you need them? (Wait a sec... he's a grad student in science-- those guys have no fashion sense...)
