Coming up...

Mariah Carey f/ Cam'ron
Boy (I Need You)

After heading back to what made her famous in the ballad "Through The Rain", pop diva Mariah Carey returns in full force to the R&B scene with her latest offering. "Boy (I Need You)" is a remake of Cam'ron's 2001 hit "Oh Boy" and is probably the best track on Carey's "Charmbracelet". The only slight problem with the track, though, is her vocal performance. Thought you'd never hear that said about Mariah, huh?. Her 'breathy' vocals are endlessly overlayed on top of each other making it hard for the listener to keep up or sing along. Still, a good track is a good track and this one deserves to be a hit.

Counting Crows f/ Vanessa Carlton
Big Yellow Taxi

Apparently some record company executive realized that the Counting Crows hadn't had a hit single for quite some time now and thought: What can I do to make the group fresh again?. Well... you can always remake a classic song, add a guest female vocalist currently in demand and see what happens. The result: Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi" gets remade once again. Although this version isn't really that awful, it's really hard to take this version seriously. This song should be left alone for once, or at the most, used as a sample in a more original composition a-la Janet Jackson's "Got 'Til It's Gone". Anyway, I'm still trying to decide if Amy Grant's version is actually better than this.

Also... Craig David- "Hidden Agenda", Nelly f/ Justin Timberlake- "Work It", Boomkat- "The Wreckoning", 50 Cent- "In Da Club", TLC- "Hands Up", Toni Braxton- "A Better Man", O-Town- "I Showed Her", Celine Dion- "I Drove All Night" & Paulina Rubio- "I'll Be Right Here (Sexual Lover)".
