Take Your Pic - Practical Magic (U)

WITH Hollywood heart-throbs Bullock and Kidman in the lead, we expect an enchanting love story - or at least some magic.

No such luck. The wishy-washy script is so unsure of its direction that we end up with a bit of romance, comedy, drama - and nothing in particular.

Sure, Kidman sizzles up the screen in the first half of the film as the more 'daring' of the two sisters brought up as witches.

Then things get murky when they have to contend with covering-up a murder from a handsome detective played by Aidan Quinn.

It is predictable, not practical - or magical.
