Chivalry

Written by Michael O'Mahoney & Sasha Reins | Directed by Paolo Barzman

Summary

Richie becomes romantically involved with one of MacLeod's old flames, Kristin. After Methos reminds MacLeod of his student's danger, MacLeod tries to convince Richie that Kristin will only attempt to kill him. Richie refuses to listen. Duplicating MacLeod's affair with Kristin almost exactly, Kristin attacks Richie after he dumps her and then goes after his friend, Maria, out of jealousy. MacLeod and Methos arrive at Kristin's house in time to save Maria and MacLeod fights Kristin, but he can't bring himself to kill her. Identifying himself as someone born "long before the age of chivalry," Methos fights Kristin and takes her head.

Quotes

Methos: "Candygram."

Methos: "Great! You knock me on my bum because I make a bad joke. Very macho."

Methos: "Couple of medieval songwriters come up with the idea of chivalry one rainy day, and you embrace it as a lifestyle. You live and die by a code of honor that was trendy when you were a kid."
MacLeod: "Would you rather that I had no code of honor at all?"
Methos: "I would rather you survived. You put that first. (pause) Look at me, MacLeod. I didn't last five thousand years by worrying about anyone but myself."
MacLeod: "Really? Could have fooled me."

Methos: "You dump her, and then you turn your back on her? Talk about the blind leading the visually challenged."

Methos: "Duncan MacLeod of the clan MacLeod."
MacLeod: "That's who I am."
Methos: "Well, I guess someone has to be."
