Summary
MacLeod tries to protect the pre-immortal Claudia
Jardine, a master pianist, from an immortal killer. The culprit is
MacLeod's old friend, Walter, who believes Claudia must die at the peak of
her talent so she is preserved forever. Walter succeeds in killing
Claudia, but she grows to resent him as she realizes her gift is gone. She
discovers that she must feel her own mortality to play, so she leaves
Seacouver with no protection. Meanwhile, Methos falls in love with one of
Joe's waitresses, Alexa, at first sight, but she refuses his advances
because she has about one year to live. Methos refuses to accept her
rejections and convinces her to travel the world with him until she
dies.
