Two very important parts of the health care system are
hospice services and home care. This is a rapidly expanding option, as more patients and
families realize there are options to care for their loved ones at home. This is not for
everyone, however. You have a "parade" of health care workers coming into your
home and this bothers some people, causing added stress to an already stressful situation.
It can also be a live saver and relief for the at home caregiver. There are similarities
in both, the major difference being that hospice deals specifically with terminal patients
and their families, while home care covers a wider variety of care options.
