Namaste! Much knowledge has come out of Japan in recent years from the Gakkai, or society Usui-Sensei created to preserve the original Reiki teachings. Adonea has taken this training from Mr. Doi, (student of past Gakkai president Ms. Kimiko Koyama) and is presenting a chance for REIKI MASTERS ONLY to attend a Shinpiden (Teacher) level class, where you will learn all the Japanese Techniques, how to do Reiju and attune and receive an initiation to this lovely energy. The class is 3 to 4 days, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you would like to register or want more information contact Adonea at: adonea@msn.com. Some questions regarding the training itself are answered here:
As a Reiki Master why would I want to take this class?
This class will take you beyond your original training... it will fill in answers to questions that you have been seeking. You will gain a deeper understanding of Reiki itself, its origins and spiritual nature. You will gain new perspectives on the 4 original symbols; what they are, where they came from, related deities, indepth investigation into the kotodama and how to connect to them. The most important thing you will gain from attending this class... is the energy itself. You will receive attunements and Reiju empowerments which will connect you to a bigger, fuller, hotter, more penetrating energy. Very few people who are teaching "the Japanese Techniques" attune to the energy itself which is the most important and useful part of the training. Once you complete this training you will be certified to teach and attune others to Usui Reiki Ryoho.
I've learned the Japanese techniques why should I take this class?
Frankly, if you did not receive an attunement to this energy, you only learned information. While information is useful and the techniques are wonderful... it is the energy which will make the difference in you, and in your students and clients. Plus a lot of new information is taught during the class itself.
I've taken a lot of different Reiki classes, is the energy really that different?
Yes. Reiki in the west seems to have been diluted/altered from the original quality and quantity, perhaps by people who didn't understand what Usui had received. If you are sensitive to energy, you will notice a difference; it will not knock your socks off... it is gentle, whole, yet subtly strong. Students of Reiho can feel the high vibrations, yet feel more grounded as it precipitates great changes within one's energy fields and physical body. If you are looking for change, growth and ultimately a stronger spiritual connection to lifeforce energy, then you want to attend this class.
Usui Reiki Ryoho Shinpiden training for Reiki Masters includes: instruction and practice in Usui Sensei's original techniques, techniques formulated by Mr. Doi and Ms. Koyama (members of Usui's original Gakkai); the 4 original symbols taught by Usui and their origins, usage, spiritual description and deity connection; how to perform Reiju, Japanese style attunements and breath empowerment. Students will receive Usui Reiki Ryoho attunements through a Japanese lineage to each level, plus multiple Reiju, a Shinpiden (Master) manual (which also includes Shoden (First Degree) and Okuden (Second Degree) information) and certificate permitting you to teach and initiate into Usui Reiki Ryoho. Also included in the manual is a copy of Usui's, and Hayashi's Shoden manuals in Japanese (with translation), Mrs. Takata's 'Gray Book', hand written pages from her diary, various articles about her and Reiki, and notes from a student of Takata's for first and second degree.
Come join Adonea for 30 hours of fun, but intense work as you learn Reiho like it is taught in Japan - from a spiritual perspective.
Comments from Reiki Masters who have taken this class:
I have been a Reiki Master/Teacher for the last 3 years and presently run the International House of Reiki in Sydney, Australia with my wife, Bronwen. We originally trained in ‘Western Reiki’ in Nepal and had our first centre in Darjeeling, India. Being in India made me aware that there was something missing from the Reiki taught in the West. Most Eastern teachings (no matter which religion or school) incorporate a number of techniques (eg. meditation, specific visualisations, movements) to produce a successful healing system. I decided I wanted to find out if there was more to Reiki than what was generally taught.
While searching for these answers I discovered that there existed certain Japanese Reiki techniques. As I was so eager I started to practice these techniques straightaway. I could soon feel a great shift happening and knew that I had found a missing link in my Reiki practice. Yet there was still something missing - the true link to the energy.
Today, it is accepted that the content and attunement process of Reiki has been continually changed by its teachers in the West. I believe that these teachers instinctively felt that ‘something’ which was missing and began to add their own techniques to make up for it. Unfortunately by doing so the true connection to Usui Sensei’s Reiki was being weakened. There are so many symbols, attunements and creative histories that it is difficult for new students and teachers to understand about Reiki and make a connection to it. For Reiki to grow and continue to benefit our world it is important to return to the source and to be able to pass on the full energy of Reiki!
I looked around at different Masters throughout the world and after asking many questions found the right Teachers - Light and Adonea. They had the same ethical beliefs, could do the right attunements and had the most comprehensive, interesting and intelligent manuals I had ever seen (complete and ready for me to use with my own students). The attunements I received were special and I started to feel my new connection to the Reiki energy.
After completing my upgrade as a Usui Reiki Ryoho Master my first client (who comes weekly) said, ‘Frans, that treatment was fantastic! I felt a sense of complete wellbeing and was engulfed in Love. It was the best treatment I’ve ever had.’ She had noticed the difference straight away.
In my classes the students love the techniques and they all feel that they belong to Reiki. The attunements, too, are now very strong and beautiful. And last but not least, after doing the course with Light and Adonea more and more students are coming, as if they can feel the purity of the energy.
May all sentient beings be blessed with this energy.

My Reiki training with Light and Adonea was a wonderful experience. I learned so much of what I was seeking all these years, traditional techniques and methods of Reiki. The manuals were supremely organized and full of information - easily the best I have ever seen. Thank you!
Robert FuestonMy experience learning on-line was as intense as if I had been face-to-face with my teachers Light and Adonea. My questions were answered promptly, with obvious thought and senstivity, and I found the humor delightful. Would I do this again? With these teachers - absolutely!
Rochelle BrenerWhen I first became interested in Reiki, I referred to Reiki Ryoho Pages by Light and Adonea frequently, because it presents the most extensive, unbiased information about Reiki on the internet. As newly discovered information about Usui Reiki Ryoho emerged from Japan in the late ‘90s, I relied on Light and Adonea to keep me up to date on the latest discoveries. After meeting them online, I decided to travel to Sedona to study with them. My connection with Reiki has expanded and continues to expand ever since. They embody the spirit of Reiki and I am proud to be in their lineage! My family, friends, students and clients benefit from their teaching as well. A fringe benefit from studying with them in person is visiting the beautiful Sedona, Arizona area. I look forward to returning there again soon!
Toni ZulaskiSome people I have talked to about this training have dismissed the thought that they might be able to learn further knowledge of the Reiki energy. I've been attuned! I've made many 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree Masters myself! What more do I need? is the most common response. I thought it might help these folk and others, to understand why re-training is a necessary and correct step for me. Being a Reiki Master from a Takata-based lineage, I always had many questions about the wide variance in techniques and symbols that were different from others I encountered. Most of those I know, who trained in what is now being called the "Western Reiki Tradition", have different Distance symbols as well as Master/Teacher symbols. The methods of drawing, of attunement, of the specifics of how to conduct the healing session and perception of what other needs Reiki might fulfill besides healing, are different from teacher to teacher and practitioner to practitioner. It became obvious to me that the original system had fragmented into many, many different methods, each of which was accessing the Reiki energy in a slightly different manner. I wanted to know how Usui-Sensei accessed the original flow of Reiki energy; I wanted to know if
I could have my own 'Kurayama' experience. These and other questions have now been completely answered by the re-attunements, learning the teachings of Traditional Japanese Reiki Ryoho (or 'Reiho' ), and by the many diagrams and explanatory features of the excellent manual provided in class by Light and Adonea (containing among other juicy tidbits, the full text in Japanese and English of manuals given by Usui-Sensei and Hyashi-Sensei to their students). I have taken retreat with these good people and can highly recommend them as wise, funny, compassionate teachers. We can only be in the flow of this energy once we are attuned to it, so attunement is vital to this re-learning process and one of the reasons I feel confident that even well-trained Reiki Masters from any lineage may benefit from this particular class. I have received re-attunement and Reiju from the original Japanese lineage and my life and my practice of Reiki have changed completely. Much more powerful and 'real' than Western, no doubt about it. I hope you'll be able to join the class!
