Geriatrics

A major portion of my practice involves geriatric medicine.  This is the branch of medicine that deals with older persons, generally considered to be over 60 years of age.  This obviously has some ties to my palliative medicine practice, though the overlap is certainly not complete in either direction.  Most of my geriatric patients don't need my palliative care expertise.  Also, not all of my palliative care patients are in the geriatric age group.
I have undertaken additional training in the area of geriatrics and am now hold a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine, offered jointly by the family practice and internal medicine boards.
