2002 Updates Wednesday, January 09, 2002 Bruce had his routine CT scan done on December 6, 2001. The following day his onc called to tell him that the scan showed his good kidney (one of Bruce's kidneys was already a non-functioning one) and the tube between the kidney and the bladder, were swollen. His onc said the most likely cause of this was either lymph nodes pressing against them, or kidney stones. Since kidney stones couldn't be seen on the scan, the fear was that Bruce relapsing. So, the month of December involved a check-up with his onc, an appointment with a urologist, and more tests. Throughout the month, Bruce felt fine (no problems with urination) and no lumps or bumps could be felt....Bruce saw his onc again on January 7, 2002 and the verdict is - Bruce isn't relapsing, nor does he have kidney stones! An ultra-sound showed NO swelling of the kidney or the tube, so the assumption is that they were just temporarily swollen for some unknown reason. Bruce's remission holds!
Bruce's current remission is now a year old. Next month (February) will mark the SIXTEEN YEAR anniversary of Bruce's diagnosis with stage 4, follicular small-cleaved cell non-hodgkin's lymphoma!!
We hope and pray you all have a terrific year, and 2002 will be filled with remissions, cures, and miracles!
