Comments.  Definitely better than yesterday.  No more lingering taste of nausea.  Lunch was also carbo loaded, which explains enthusiasm.  Run started very strong & fast, after 2 km ran out of gas because legs still tired after yesterday’s “interval trial” haha.   So slowed down a bit the next 3 km.  Left sole discomfort (the one that feels like a tear behind the pinky finger) showed up at least 3 times during footplant that did not quite land correctly.  At Jetty End felt really “panchit” so took a 2 min walk break.  Overall, really liked today’s “form”, was kind free flowing and running without thinking.  Turns out the the pace was quite alright.  In fact the first 2 km were at “record pace” faster than even the 5k udini PR.

Today because of the panchit issue, I tried a dirty trick described in Galloway’s book called “magic rubber band”.  This is to fool the brain to stop sending give-up signals.  The method:  to mentally lasso a magic rubber band on a runner/ thing in front, and start “reeling in” with the pumping hands, feeling the tension of the rubber band build up & propel/boost leg power.  So, I lassoed three giggly high-school girls on the return trip (Jetty end to Two-trees).   Hey, it really worked!  So even though I took a two minute walk break, still made that segment in 11:22.  Next time, I will try some “Anti-gravity Lotion”.  Haha.

Characters:  Jogging Chinese couple again.  Walking Malay couple.  Three giggly high-school girls.

Postrun:  Rewater Hundred plus.  Stretched a bit.  Did pointed toe scrunches some more to improve the plantar fascia thingie.
