This is a group of celiacs in the Atlanta area that meets once a month on the 2nd Thursday at 7pm. They go to dinner and trade information. No formal meeting is held. The group meets at a restaurant in the metro Atlanta area. Contact Tiffany to suggest a restaurant to meet at. To join this group, go to the website listed below and join. The website will give the details. The group is $5.00 per year to join. This goes to cover the cost of the website.You have to be a member to get the details of where the meeting is going to be. It is a good group to meet with. There is no formal meeting, just going to dinner and having discussions with the others who share the same difficulties you have when eating out. The number of people at a meeting ranges from 6 to 50.

Forums are message boards for a particular topic, there are a number of forums for celiacs. A forum can have single or multiple message areas (folders or topic areas). A message and the responses to it are called a thread. Most forums have files that can be downloaded. The celiac forums cover many topics, but almost always have discussions about food, symptoms, recipes,and restaurant menus. You will often discussions on areas of being a celiac you never thought about. To post a message or inquiry, you have to join that forum. Most of the forums will allow you to see posts, download files or perform searches without joining, some require you to join to do these things. If you join, a copy of all messages posted will usually be emailed to you, however not having those emails sent is usually an option. Each forum has it’s strengths, weaknesses and quirks, find the one(s) that suit your needs. Most of these forums are like having a discussion about being a celiac with your friends, only everybody is a celiac. You will quickly learn that while every celiac is unique, the challenges we face are not unique. It is particularly good to log on, when the challenges of being a celiac in a non-celiac world have gotten you down. |

This is the grand daddy of celiac forums. You do not have to join to view or search. You do have to join to post messages. There is no cost to join. When you post a message or request, answers will be sent to your email address.You are expected to summarize and post a summary. The information that gets presented and the questions that get asked cover every topic a celiac can think of and many you would not have thought of. If it is happening in the celiac world it ends up on this web site. It is easy to search the archives of this site to find if the answer to your question is already available. |
