There are many of us parents who for some reason or another have become disheartened with the abilities of the public school system. While my children are still in school, I am also supplementing what the school teaches with what I have found both on the net and in stores like Barnes and Noble. The supplementation seems to work well for my kids, but for those of you who aren't sure what to do or where to go from here, I've located some wonderful HomeSchooling links for you to browse. There are many ways to homeschool your children and it can be VERY confusing, to know which is best for you and your child.
There are some places which offer full curriculum sets. This includes books, workbooks, teachers guides and different options for grading. Some places will grade your childs work and keep the records and paperwork for you, so its one less thing that you need to worry about. Or if you wish you can grade the work and keep up with the paperwork. In my opinion letting the organization do the paperwork is the best option for first timers. That way you know you'll have everything you need for the school district.
The rules for homeschooling vary from state to state so if you are interested in homeschooling, you need to contact your County School Board to find out what you need to do. In Florida, all you need to do is send to the School Board a letter stating that you will be homeschooling your child, include your name, the students name, the students grade and the school they would be attending.
