Traumatic Brain Injury
Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI is an injury to the brain that is caused by some kind of blow to the head. Car accidents, falls, bicycle accidents and the like are the most common causes. While not everyone who is involved in an accident suffers a TBI, more than 30,000 children a year sustain permanent disabilities as the result of a TBI. I don't have the statistics on adults.
