I quilt and read lot, and I love to go hiking and camping.

I was having really bad pelvic on my left side. and I went to like 3 doctors, and they said there was nothing wrong, and then I finally decided to go to a specialist. He then told me that I had endometriosis.
I had surgery back in May of this year, but I think it may be back.
Special issues: Will endo. come back?

After 2 1/2 yrs feeling like a fool going from Dr to Dr I was finally diagnosed in July '96 and had a lap in Sep '96, they said I had severe endo in numerous places. Does anyone have advise on dealing with pregnancy with endometriosis.

I am 29, and have been married 2 years.
I love to work out (makes me feel better, too), read, paint, ride horses, and spend time with my wonderful husband and dogs.

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in June when I had Lap surgery to find out why I had some pain and also because we had been trying to get pregnant for a year.
My pain has been much worse since surgery. I have been unsure about taking the Lupron shots due to the side effects and wanting to have a baby.

Would like to find out more info on Chinese and alternative medicine.
Has anyone out there had success with that?
Special issues: any experience with alternative medicine??

I am 27, a paralegal by day and a law student by night. I don't have a lot of time for hobbies-- except a boyfriend-- they always keep you busy!! I am just trying to keep my head above water and remain as pain free as possible!!!

I had my first lap about 6 years ago and I had another one about 3 years ago. After the second lap, I went on Danocrine for 6 months, which was a complete nightmare!!! The pain has come back such that I am in some kind of pain on almost a daily basis and am experiencing pain during intercourse as well. I am totally and completely frustrated and do not know what to do next. I started taking birth control pills to see if that will help control the endo but I don't see much of a difference yet. I don't know whether to insist on another lap or just try to deal with the pain-- I am really at a loss here! I am just tired of this effecting every aspect of my life.

Special issues: Any herbal remedies for pain or dietary suggestions.

Here is a link to a page of my Favorite Things. I am 30 years old, blissfully married, and the mother of three. I have two daughters, 11 years old and 11 months old, and a nine year old son. My husband works as an electronics technician, and is working toward his computer science degree... he is responsible for turning me into a computer nerd!! *LOL* I am now studying Visual Basic (a bit of light programming) along with my husband. Sometimes there just isn't enough time in the day for all I wish to accomplish.

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis seven years ago....our third baby was a blessing...I was only able to conceive after my second laparoscopy surgery. Although Lupron was also an option...I chose not to have Lupron injections again. (I tried it, but couldn't complete my first treatment...after a terrible time with it). I would love to hear from anyone interested in discussing their experiences or concerns about Endometriosis, and especially anyone who has tried Lupron...your thoughts, your victories.

30 years old in October 1997.
Married for six years. No kids. . .yet!
Enjoy playing pool, cards, board games.
Do some limited crafts (if they're easy).
Known as our "computer guru" at the office.

I was first technically diagnosed with Endo in July 1996 when I had a lap done. We really weren't surprised, since my mother had Endo and a hyst at age 36. My husband & I had been trying to conceive for nearly a year when I had the lap. The GYN saw the Endo and gave me a shot of Depot Lupron. The next week, we found out I was pregnant. (No blood tests or pregnancy tests were performed before the lap.) I ended up miscarrying at 10 weeks. We tried to conceive for about six months after that until the pain became so bad that I was literally doubled over and incapacitated for days at a time when my periods started. I decided to go on the Lupron for the full six months (had changed to an OB-GYN). Just had shot number 6 on September 18. Lap number two scheduled for October 27. Keeping our fingers crossed!

I guess I am looking for other people with similar probs, and want to know what my alternatives are.

I am 40 years old, married for 16 years and have 2 girls 12 and 8. I work 3 days a week, I do homecare for a nursing agency. Like the beaches, bowling, hanging with my friends, who are all great but do not understand all my complaints. It is great to know others with endo are feeling and needing the same as I do. I also work out 5 days a week which I believe is good for you. People have said to me I don't look "40" {what is it suppose to look like?} Which of course is good for your head!!!!! I never had any trouble getting preg. with my 2 girls. Dr. says , I had to have this endo for at least 5-10 years. He never gave my endo a stage #, he does not believe in it . Calls my endo severe with deep infiltrated lesions. How lucky could you be!!!!

I found out I had endo in April 1996. Dx.with a lap. Had early bleeding with my cycles ,about every 3wks for about 8 months with heavy cramping ,which I thought was normal. Can you believe this, with me being a nurse. Total denial!!!! Have a great gyn who I have intense debates with because I read everything I can get my hands on. After surgery he wanted me to start Lupron. I refused ,until one day in,.Aug.1996 I crawled into his office doubled over in pain. He of course did a transvaginal sono[which of course you all should know can NOT dx. endo , but can show other indications to lead a md to believe further investigating is needed] At that point he finally was able to get me to change my mind, and at least give the lupron a try. I started the following week. Did ok until the 3th shot, by that time he [MD] was researching that reports showed you could go on addback therapy of estrogen and progestogen. Completed the lupron with addback therapy,. which made side ! effect so more bearable. [hot flashes ,moodiness, no sex drive ,vaginal dryness] Last shot was Jan1997. Then my MD wanted me to try BCP. I never did good on them and at this time still have not used them. My follow-up at MD in April1997 was with good results, no pain, no c/o any kind. He did his gyn exam which did not show any problems and said to me "see you in 6 months" WELL it is 6 months later, my appt. is Oct6 and things are hurting. Started about 3 months ago. Pain on right side, at times pain on left side. This all starts about 10-15 days into my cycle. And last month very bad pain which I thought was ovulation discomfort ,which lasted over 1 hour . I could not move from my bed and I was real scared. It finally had stopped. At that point, that is when I made my appt. which I go to next week. Well at least I had a few good months of no pain. Anyway, I think that is enough about me and my woes for now. I will let you know how things work out after my MD appt. Thanks for listening.

My name is Catherine. I am a 32 yr old mom (single) of 3 boys, ages 11 1/2 and twins who are 8!!

I had my first real painful symptoms of endometriosis about3 months ago. I started hemmoraging and after being on Provera for 10 days and pain didn't get better, but bleeding stopped. My OB/GYN was great and within a couple weeks (8/29/97) I had my laproscopy surgery. They found extensive scar tissue from 2 c-sections and endo near my uterus. It took 2 weeks to recover, mild complications. Now pain is returning and I am so scared of another surgery and having problems with my boyfriend o 3 1/2 yrs (sexual problems).

Looking for friends who share same issues, support network. I have great friends, but no one who really understands!

Smile :)

Catherine

I had a lap the 17th of September, for diagnosis of endo. I had endo and it was removed. Still waiting for my cycle to begin. I think that this support group is a great way for all of us to encourage each other when we are feeling low or high. Thank you. Debbie Shoemaker
