First off let me fill all of you out there in on who exactly Upinya is. Originally we were a small band that first started out of Daytona Beach, Florida. Now it's just me, Brent A. Terwilliger, Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist, operating out of Binghamton, NY. My style is a mix of Folk/Rock/Jazz/Blues in a tradition similiar to Dave Matthews, Eric Clapton, and Bob Dylan. While most of the music I play has been covers I have taken a great step and put together an album composed almost completely of original songs.

The originally line up of UPINYA consisted of:
Brent A. Terwilliger (Guitar/Vocals)
James Kudelchuk (Percussion)
Dave Thomas (Harmonica)

It eventually evolved to include:
Jason Provost (Drums)
Erik Copeland (Guitar)
John Huddas (Bass)

UPINYA's History

"The concept of Upinya originally started in 1998 when James and I were messing around with an acoustic guitar and his bongo drum. We thought it'd be a cool idea to just jam and try to play a few open mic gigs. Eventually we ended up in a talent contest at our school and from there it took off." Brent A. Terwilliger April, 2000

The lead vocalist/guitarist/songwriter is Brent A. Terwilliger, a 22 year old native of Oswego, New York. Brent has been active in the Daytona Beach music scene since 1997. He's currently moved to Upstate New York to begin working on a solo career. He's an alumni of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

The percussionist for the group is James Kudelchuk,a 21 year old a native of Voluntown, CT. He plays an assortment of percussion instruments ranging from a full drum set to a Toca Bongo. James is current a sophmore at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

The man on the slide Harp is known to us as Dave "the Man who can't stay awake during a gig..." Thomas. Dave has been with us since this past September when he contributed his talents to us onstage at the Delta Chi house (You can see these pics on the Picture page).
