Spicy Red Dip

Ingredients:

1/4 cup dry red wine
1 tsp ground red pepper
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp cardamon
1/8 tsp coriander
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cloves
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/8 of a medium onion
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup paprika

Place all ingredients except paprika in a blender and blend at high speed until smooth, scrape the sides frequently. When finished, set aside. Heat paprika in a 1 quart sauce pan for about 1 minute over medium heat. Gradually add the spice mix, stirring until smooth. Continue heating for 3 minutes after all the blended components have been added. Let cool and then refrigerate until needed. Serve as a dip for shrimp, toasted pita bread, or satay.
