1 Tblsp vegetable oil
1 Tblsp mustard seeds
1 Tblsp cumin seeds
1 medium onion, cut into 1 inch strips
1 large tomato, diced
1 1/2 pound chicken (may be cut up, still on the bone or boiled)
8 oz plain yogurt
1 tsp chili powder
1 Tblsp curry powder
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp garlic powder
pinch of salt
Heat the oil in the bottom of a pan. While heating, add the mustard and cumin seeds and cover with a lid. When the seeds start to pop add the onions and fry until slightly red. The add the tomatoes and crush while frying to make a paste. Add the spices and chicken pieces and fry until the chicken is cooked through. For pre-cooked chicken, fry about 3 minutes. Add the yogurt along with 1/4 cup of water and cook until the desired consistency is obtained.
