Hello, friends, and welcome to the Land of Conan's Links page!
This page contains links to my friends' pages and to pages that I visit a lot, mostly music sites. I'm working on a separate list of links to pages about my favorite musicians, but that will be a little longer in coming.
TashaSquasha's Page This site is my inspiration. It's a beautiful and fascinating glimpse into the life of my friend Tasha, complete with weekly (more or less) updates on what she's been up to lately. I go to this page to ground myself.
The Dumbest Place On Earth Finally, a website that actually lives up to its title! This is my brother's page, otherwise I wouldn't link to it.
Xena, Warrior Lesbian This page, owned and operated by my chum Scott, has everything you ever wanted to know (and more!) about Xena and Gabrielle's "relationship." Mostly a comprehensive listing of every single bit of subtext to be found in every episode, this page also has a couple of really beautiful paintings by Karen Barberie, a very talented artist.
Karen's Home Page And speaking of Karen Barberie, this is her web page, with lots of her gorgeous sketches, paintings, and illustrations (and several pictures of the Nields!).
FolkWeb An indispensible site for the modern folkie, FolkWeb has information on lots of the "rising stars" and established favorites of the Boston-area folk scene. They support independent record labels like Signature Sounds, Waterbug, and Eastern Front. One of the best sites of its kind out there.
FolkZone Another Boston-based site, they provide websites for some of the musicians in the area. A word of warning--they're not always great at updating old information.
folkmusic dot org Starting to notice a pattern here? There's a lot to peruse on this site; the part I visit most often is the (pretty comprehensive) listing of musicians' websites.
The Ectophile's Guide To Good Music The Guide was created by members of the ecto mailing list, which was started as a forum to discuss the music of Happy Rhodes and soon grew to encompass a wide variety of musicians. Some of their categories include: Ambient, Beautiful & Fierce, Contemporary Folk, Ectronica, Ethereal... definitely worth checking out if you're into Tori Amos, Veda Hille, Sarah McLachlan, Jane Siberry, Kate Bush, etc.
That's all for now. Thank you for visiting the Land of Conan's Links page!
