Our sisterhood was established in 1905. Today we have a membership of 700. We became affiliated with "Women's League for Conservative Judaism" in 1958. Through Women's league we support the Jewish Theological Seminary. Proceeds from the sale of our cookbooks will be used to support the needs of our synagogue community and beyond.
Some of the many projects supported by our sisterhood are:
Scholarships for Camp Ramah Chanukah and Passover boxes for college students Dinner for college students Support "Jarc" homes for retarded adults Work with Russian immigrants to help the transition to American life "Service with Love", phone companions for the homebound Nursing home visits Support Yad Ezra, a Jewish food bank Braille copying service, and the "Tri County Braille Association" Sponsor adult education and Bat Mitzvah classes Underwrite children's activities and provide transportation support Support many needs of our synagogue
