If you do not know Deana Carter by name, then you definatley know her by her music. Deana was born on Januray 4, 1966. She is the daughter of famous guitarist Fred Carter Jr. She is a very talented singer/songwriter. Her break through album "Did I Shave My Legs For This",which has gone platinum, brought us tunes such as "Strawberry Wine",which turned out to be the single of the year, "How Do I Get There From Here", "Count Me In", and of course "Did I Shave My Legs For This".

In many ways Deana reminds me of entertainers from the 60's ( no offence intended ). As we all know, she tends to perform without shoes. It is as if she refuses to get caught up in her fame...she seems to wnat to remain a good old country girl. To me that in itself is a very outstanding quality.

Although her rise to fame was very quick, once the album was picked up, I personally dont think it will be long before she is a household name....Deana worked long and hard to get to where she is today, and is an insperation to us all.
