Terri Clark
...Unsung Hero??
Terri Clark is another one of my favorite singers/songwriters in country music today. She has a presence about her, and manages to draw everyone in with her energy. Terri was born in Montreal, Que. but was raised in the heart of the praries, Medicine Hat, AB. She was raised in a country background, and at the age of 18 she headed for Nashville. She got her first job at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge. Terri struggled up the Country Music ladder for 8 long years. Mecury Records gave her her first chance in 1995.
To her credit: Star of Tommorrow TNN/ Music City News Awards, nominated for the Country Music Awards Horizon Award, she was voted Billboard Magazine's Top new Female Country Artist of 1995, and 3 Canadian Country Music Awards, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Rising Star of 1996.
Terri is known for such songs as "When Boy Meets Girl", "Better Things To Do", "Just The Same", and who can forget "Poor Poor Pitiful Me"? I think that, although all attention seems to go the way of Shania Twain, that Terri Clark is the one who is going to go down in the history books as one of the greats!!! She is not just another shooting star, so to speak, she has what it takes!!! She seems to have boundless energy, and draws in every crowd that she performs for. Terri has that fresh faced down home country girl look that country music just loves.
