Fan Fair is quite simple: 25,000 fans gather in Nashville each June to be entertained by dozens of the World's top Country performers, rising stars and newcomers. It's a chance for the stars to say "Thank you" to the fans; the people who really control their dreams and aspirations. This concept is unique to Country music: no other genre has any event to compare to it. Let's be realistic, however: this may be the underlying idea of Fan Fair, but it also represents a shop window for the Music City machine to show its new products, be that artists or albums. This is the marketing man's dream: an audience of devotees paying at the gate to see what he'd normally have to work hard to sell. This web site is intended to look at Fan Fair from the perspective of a foreigner. The opinions expressed here do not represent the official view of the Country Music Association, The Grand Old Opry or any other organisation responsible for Fan Fair. The pages also give travel, accommodation and practical advice for anyone who is tempted to join in the fun....

The pictures used on these pages were taken during Fan Fair 1998 and 1999. You may take copies for personal use; however, I would ask that you do not use them for commercial purposes. The performers featured in some of these pictures allow us, the fans, the courtesy of taking their pictures at Fan Fair. Please don't abuse that courtesy.
