This is a picture of my mother take in about 1959. Mother suffered from rheumatiod arthritis for the last 35 years of her life. Much of the time she was unable to walk or pick up anything heavier that a book. Mother died March 6, 1964 at the home of my sister Donna in Woodland, California and is buried at Warroad, Minnesota.
This a picture of my paternal grandmother and her mother taken in about 1878. My grandmother was born Inger Kjerstine Olesdatter at Bakke, Land, Oppland, Norway on April 1, 1859. She came from Norway to Iowa at about the age of 12 with her mother and brother. The rest of the family immigrated earlier. She married Tron Larson in about 1880. She passed away December 17, 1946 at the home of her daughter Caroline and is buried in Orrock, Minnesota. Her mother, Kjerstine Johannesdatter, was born at Helgerudie, Sondreland, Oppland, Norway, September 23, 1815 to Johannes Ebgebretson and Anne Johannesdatter. She was married twice and had a total of 4 children. Inger Kjerstine (Christine) was the youngest child.
This a picture of my great grandmother and taken in about 1878 at the same time as the above picture. This picture was found in 2002 hidden behind another picture at the home of one of aunt Caroline's children. It was decided to be authentic because of her attire which is identical to that in the picture above.
This is a picture of my paternal grandparents and my grandfathers two brothers taken from a large group picture of the crowd at a wedding in Orrock, Minnesota in about 1893. The men from left to right are Andrew Larson, Tron Larson and Christian Larson with Tron's wife Christine right behind Andrew. I believe that Andrew's wife Bertia is at his right I think the small child being held by Christine in the photo is my dad. Tron Larson was born April 2, 1851 at Jerpset, Eidskog, Hedmark, Norway of Lars Tronson and Anne Andersdatter. He came to the United States in August 1871. He died in Princeton, Minnesota, May 5, 1922 and is buried at Orrock, Minnesota. The three brothers in this picture look like a tough group.

He left Montana in the late 1940's and lived with neice Dorothy Kofstad in Warroad, Minnesota until he died. Levi is buried in Warroad, Minnesota. |
This is a snapshot of my uncle Levi taken in front of the place he built on his homestead in Westby, Montana. There were no improvements in the building. It had a dirt floor and bare studs for walls. I don't think he spent winters there. He was well known in the town of Orrock, Minnesota so I feel that he spent at least some of his winters there.
