Earth mediations are for stabilization. Many of them focus on strength, empowerment and labor. The mediations are to strengthen the mind body and soul, creating a solid base of energy within. Earth meditation can be used to help us discover our primal form and emotions as well.
Earth Meditation of Stabilization
- Sit in an open area where you are comfortable. It is best to be skyclad, but loose clothes are fine as well.
- Sit on the ground with your hands and feet in front of you.
- Close your eyes and take slow breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth, concentrating on the air flowing in and out of your lungs.
- With each breath, concentrate on the feeling of the air rushing through your nose and into your lungs.
- Focus your energies downward into the earth. Picture them 'rooting' into the ground.
- Feel your energy sinking into the earth and the earth enveloping your energy.
- Focus on the stability of the earth. Focus on roots of energy embracing you.
- As you come out of the meditation, gently pull your energy up and back into yourself.
Earthen Tomb Meditation
- Lay down in an open area where you are comfortable. It is best to be skyclad, but loose clothes are fine as well.
- Rest your arms to either side of yourself, palms upward.
- Close your eyes and take slow breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth, concentrating on the air flowing in and out of your lungs.
- With each breath, concentrate on the feeling of the air rushing through your nose and into your lungs.
- Relax you whole body, starting with the tips of your toes and working your way upward through your legs, torso, arms and head.
- Visualize yourself sinking into the earth as you relax your body into the ground.
- Feel the energies of the earth forming around you, embracing you into a tomb.
- As you come out of the meditation, 'lift' yourself up out of the earth energies. Tense your body starting with your head and working your way down to your toes.
