Water meditation help to focus your emotions. They are meant to sooth, relax and balance the body. Water is a cooling element that brings life to living things. Water mediations tend to be slow and mellow, helping you to focus your emotions and bring them to balance with one another.



Water Mediation of Emotional Balance

  1. Sit in an open area where you are comfortable. It is best to be skyclad, but loose clothes are fine as well.

  2. Sit on the ground with your hands and feet in front of you.

  3. Close your eyes and take slow breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth, concentrating on the air flowing in and out of your lungs.

  4. With each breath, concentrate on the feeling of the air rushing through your nose and into your lungs.

  5. Imagine the sound of running water, oceans, or rivers.

  7. Feel the water energies swirling around your body in slow lingering movements. The energies should be cool or luke warm.

  8. Let your body 'float' in these energies. Focus on them allowing them to cool the senses.

  9. As you come out of the meditation, absorb the water energies into yourself, feeling them cool and cleanse your soul.




'Dead man's' Floating Meditation

  1. Lay down in an open area where you are comfortable. It is best to be skyclad, but loose clothes are fine as well.

  2. Rest your arms to either side of yourself, palms upward.

  3. Close your eyes and take slow breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth, concentrating on the air flowing in and out of your lungs.

  4. With each breath, concentrate on the feeling of the air rushing through your nose and into your lungs.

  5. Relax you whole body, starting with the tips of your toes and working your way upward through your legs, torso, arms and head.

  6. Visualize yourself floating on a large body of water with your ears below the water line. Imagine the sounds of only the water.

  7. Feel the energies of the water embracing you, cooling you with a gentle rocking.

  8. As you come out of the meditation, 'lift' yourself up out of the earth energies. Tense your body starting with your head and working your way down to your toes.
