BIOGRAPHY

Sara was born on January 20, 1908 in Hillsboro, Kansas to Dietrich and Aganetha (Duerksen) Klaassen. Sara was the 11th of 15 children. Here she's shown with her younger brother and two of her older sisters.

NEWSPAPER OBITUARY: Sara D. Bell, 83 died December 18, 1991, at the Marion Manor Nursing Home, Marion.

She was born January 20, 1908, at Hillsboro, the daughter of Dietrich and Aganetha (Duerksen) Klaassen. A longtime Marion resident, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Marion Christian Church, Marion.

On June 15, 1926, she married Lyndon Hiebert, at Hillsboro. He died October 29, 1935 in a car accident. On June 2, 1940, she married Arthur Bell at Hillsboro. He died November 22, 1977 after having been in failing health for several months.

Survivors include: a son, Clyde Hiebert, El Dorado; a daughter, Ethel Lackey, Seneca; two step-daughters, Ada Frances Beisel, Pueblo, Colorado, and Joan Klenke, Fort Dodge; a brother, Herman Klaassen, Hillsboro; two sisters, Eva Brandt, Wichita, and Susie Winter, Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 23 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Marion Christian Church, Marion, with the Rev. David Branson presiding. Friends may call at the Thompson-Harp-Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery, Marion.

Memorials may be sent to the church or to the American Diabetes Association, both in care of the funeral home.
