I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio on October 31, 1972 to Lonnie and Olivia Williams. After graduating from John Marshall High School (Go, Lawyers!) I attended Howard University in Washington, DC where I majored in Elementary Education, with a concentration in History. I also pledged the 'upper uppermost house' of the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (Howard University, Washington, DC, 20059--for those who know). I have been an elementary school teacher in the DC Public schools since 1995 where I serve as a cheerleader coach and ski team coach. During that time I also started a company, Basheerah Special Occasions, which creates hand-crafted invitations, announcements, and greeting cards. I also recently began producing bridal shows. In addition to cheering, skiing, and weddings, I also LOOOOOVE purple and Stevie Wonder!
