The Wedding Party, continued

Best Man, William Bennett, attended high school with Mike. They were also roommates in college, Mike attending Stillman College and Bennett attending the University of Alabama, both in Tuscaloosa, AL. Bennett currently lives in Birmingham where he is conducting research on diabetes to complete his PhD. He has already completed his MD. (Yes, ladies, he is single)

William Blackburn and Mike were freshmen at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. They remained close friends after Mike transferred. Mike was Blackburn's best man when he married Kim. He and Kim live in Maryland with their two children, Taaja and Taqee. Mike is Taqee's Godfather.

Jesse Daniels is Mike's chapter brother (the Epsilon Epsilon of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.) from Stillman. Jesse is a school principal in Birmingham, where he lives with his wife, Denise, and his son, Joshua. Mike was in his wedding.

Robert Ward is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. from Stillman. He and Mike pledged together in 1990. Mike was a member of Bob's wedding party when he married his wife, Sandy. He and his wife currently live in Atlanta with their daughter, April. They recently expanded their family with the birth of a son, Robert, Jr.!

Darrell Blake and his family used to live in the same apartment complex and Mike and his family. He is also a member of KAPsi. Darrell is a teacher in Maryland where he lives with his wife, Ida, and 3 sons.

Kevin Brown is my Godbrother. Growing up we always said we would be in each other's weddings. I was a bridesmaid when he married Kim and he returned the favor. He and Kim live in Clarksville, Tennesses.

I forgot to mention that Mike is VERY close to his family. So, of course, many of them were in the wedding. Aside from his dad, who performed the ceremony:

Younger brother, James Knight (Rob) is almost 17 years younger than Mike. He is a junior in high school, and trying to get his driver's license. (Watch out, world!)

Cousin, Cecil Coleman (Chip)lives in Birmingham. He has a son, Christian, who keeps him busy.

Cousin, Donald Hatcher, Jr. also lives in Birmingham, having recently returned from Nashville, where he attended Tennessee State University and was active with UrbanProfessionals.

Cousin, Jeremy Jones (Prep) is also a member of KAPsi. Jeremy and his wife, Georgette (AKA),live in Atlanta where he is the manager of a Chrysler dealership that is owned by his dad. Mike was also in their wedding.

Cousin, Lawrence Hopkins lives in Norfolk, VA. He is single ;-) and loves the St. Louis Rams.

We also had 3 ushers:

Dennis Howella Kappa who is married to Mike's cousin Charita. They live in Birmingham, with their 2 children.

Marcus Cohen is married to Mike's cousin, Deirdre. They live in Birminham, where he works as a police officer.

Kevin Taylor is also a Kappa. He lives in Maryland with his girlfriend, Sheris.

And the two ring bearers:
Marc Bassett, a younger cousin, and Taqee Blackburn, Mike's Godson, who didn't really make it down the aisle.

We also had two other young gentlemen in our wedding, cousins Jared and William Travis, who served as the town crier and greeter, respectively. Will also filled in as a ringbearer when Taqee refused to go down the aisle.
