You Asked For A Poem

"You asked for a poem Written just for you
Though it was not easy I hope this will help you."

Your feelings deep inside
Enslave your very soul
You keep them hidden well
And are careful not to let them show

Such human things you ask
Not wanting all that much
Love and understanding
A woman's gentle touch

Maybe a friend or two along the way
In whom you can confide
Someone to help you heal
This pain you have inside

Every step you take towards love
Brings the slamming of a door
Giving you just enough of a taste
To leave you hungering for more

Is there no one who can help me?
Why does no one care?
If I am standing right in front of you
Am I really there?

Can you see my figure?
Can you hear my voice?
To offer me your love
Seems like such a simple choice

I need for you to see me
I need for you to hear
I need for you to help me through
The things in life I fear

There must be someone I can turn to
Someone I can trust
Someone to show me love
Before this heart of mine
Hardens and turns to dust

(From me to you)

At night when you are sleeping
One thing you must know
There is someone watching over you
Someone you may already know

His name is Lord Jesus
Unconditionally he loves
There is no blame or ridicule
He gave his life for us

Though trusting in him may be difficult
With your burdens so heavy
And no end in site
If you ask and trust in him
He will lift you up and carry you
Or lead you when you are blind

In my life I am blessed
To have the love I do
Please understand
I have had my share of pain too

If you want someone to love you
You must first love yourself
Forgive yourself first or
You can forgive no one else

It saddens my heart to know
The love you have yet to receive
Love is out there waiting for you
This I do believe

So when you are tired
And you have had enough
Remember the Lord Jesus
And His unconditional love

The Lord Said To Me

The decisions I make,
In my so called life,
Bring forth with each new day,
Trial and Strife,
I fight to control every twist and turn,
All the while I hear a voice asking me,
"My child when will you learn?"

I need not wonder whose voice I hear,
For it is my Heavenly Father,
Whispering in my ear,

Falling to my knees I ask Him," Why? "
"No matter what I do,
No matter what I try,
Crumbles to pieces in front of my eyes?"

I cry out to my Father, " Please show me the way,
Why must I suffer these things with each new day?"
His explanation is simple
As His words grip my soul
"For My child of your own life,
You have no control,

Cast your cares upon Me,
Submit to My ways,
I will bring you comfort and joy,
For the rest of your days,

Glorify My name,
Worship only Me,
Do not fall victim to what the world sees."

"As the desires of your flesh,
Continue to make you weak,
Test you I will,
Until I am all you seek."

I could ask Him why,
But I already understand,
I am not here for me,
But to fulfill the Lord's plan.

My trials and tribulations,
Are given to me from above,
Although sometimes they are harsh,
They come out of love.

It's hard to give the Lord thanks,
When my life starts to fall apart,
The tests are not given to hurt me,
But to strengthen my mind, soul and heart.

With each new trial,
I know I must face,
I try to remember,
Those words of Grace,

"Cast your cares upon Me,
I will take the burden from you,
Have faith in Me and
I will strengthen you,

If I cared enough
To put the flowers on the mountain,
I knew you could not see,

Then how much more My child,
Do I love Thee?"
