Sammy came into our lives when she was less than a year old. A neighbor found her homeless, dirty, and half-starved with a crooked tail. Her little eyes told us that she had a rough kittenhood, and if we took in and loved her, she would love us for the rest of her life (but could she please have some food?). Because of her homelessness, her stomach could not tolerate many of the foods that we gave her. With a lot of experimentation and with the help of a vet, we have learned what she can eat. Sammy, to this day, has never let us down with her love.

Empress of the Felines

Sammy is nearly thirteen years old, but despite this fact, she occasionally has been known to frolic with the other cats. Mostly, though, she simply tolerates them, except when they go after her food (something which Pawley is notorious for). When that happens, all the cats know who the queen of the house really is.
